Our Conservation Projects
Echidna Walkabout Nature Tours run conservation projects that travellers can be part of on every tour.
This is what ghost net (discarded trawl net or fishing net) looks like when caught on the rocks at the shore. It can be removed quite easily with the right approach and equipment. Over 5 years Echidna Walkabout's Wildlife Guides and guests have removed all the ghost net from the headland at Cape Conran.
Ghost nets wash up from the ocean onto the beaches. They can wash back out, entangling marine wildlife. This is a great time to remove them. On our 4 day Wildlife Journey we have removed all of the ghost net from the rocks at Cape Conran, East Gippsland.
