This is my wet soap shot. I'm not a photographer and my drip tray looks really messy by this stage. Finally happy with the consistency of my soap "glaze". I think I prefer in the pot swirl for this, it's what most of the cake making video's do. Still 100% coconut oil because it's slow to trace. Still fragrance free to avoid accelerating trace. Love the stars. Moulds from Daiso. The gold looks a bit yellow. Finally Happy, Cake Making, Daiso, Drip Tray, Consistency, How To Make Cake, Coconut Oil, Glaze, Fragrance

Mirror glaze soap attempt 1 and 2 in the purple. Not brilliant but I'm a beginner. They were not salt bars and have not sweated like the soap bars have. Notice the beads of water on the pink heart? Bar Soap, Purple, Pink, Glaze, Salt, Challenge, Beads, Mirror, Water

More sweaty soap

The first practice run was far too runny. Didn't leave much glaze on the soaps. Practice #2 was a bit better but still too runny. Spent too much time fidgeting so it was all kinda blended together. This one was better. Probably the batter was a bit too thick and not enough red mica. Looks lumpy. Didn't mix the colours well, was more concentrated at the bottom of the containers. Poured over a loaf mould. Will chop it up eventually and use it. No fragrance - didn't want to accelerate trace. Enough Is Enough, Soaps, Glaze, Fragrance, Challenge, Colours, Mirror, Desserts, Red

Out of the moulds for a few hours and already sweating away. I'm used to my soaps sweating at times because of the climate, even the cured ones. But this is a bit much! Thankfully the glaze stuck. Took a day for the glaze to start sweating. Guess that's life. Hopefully the salt bars will be nice and solid. Sick of "hard" soap recipes being too soft. You lie soapcalc! Sodium lactate doesn't do a whole lot really. Not in the tropics. Soap Recipes, Soaps, Glaze, Sick, Challenge, Tropical, Times, Bar, Mirror

This is my base soaps after pouring. Doesn't look like many compared to a professional. 600g oil, 300g salt, full amount of water. Thought I'd try a few different shapes because I'm indecisive. May not use them all. Different Shapes, Soaps, Glaze, Challenge, Oil, Mirror, Water, Hand Soaps, Enamel

Decided to make salt bars as my base soap for this challenge. Been meaning to try it. Needed individual cavity moulds for both the challenge and salt bars. Perfect! 100% coconut oil with 20% superfat. Just because I know it takes a bit longer to trace and I can use 100% coconut oil for the glaze without it thickening up straight away. Made a soap embed using a cookie cutter and loaf of soap. Tried when the bar was soft. Too sticky! Worked kinda ok but would use firmer soap next time. Mooshed the offcuts into the cookie cutter. Took ages. Thought I could use them for the mirror glaze challenge until I heard the criteria. Used some for practice instead.
