Vintage Melbourne, Australia. Swanston Street, looking down St. Kilda Rd, Probably mid-20th century. Flinders St. Railway station on right with Princes Bridge Railway station on the left. (now site of Federation Square). And no Art Centre. Shrine of Remembrance centre background.

HISTORY: Mid-Century view looking down St Kilda Road towards the Shrine of Remembrance, with Flinders Street Railway Station on the right and Princes Bridge Railway Station on the left (now the site of Federation Square).

Swanston St Melbourne late 1970s. It;s amazing to think that this street hardly resembles this picture in 2013. Sure it's now a tram and pedestrian thoroughfare i like the older version with the CUB in the distance. In fact give me old melbourne over this current day need to be shiny and all modern with shoeboxes lining the city.
