1930s Fashion Illustrations

Before photography became mainstream, Fashion Illustration was the main form of advertisement & promotion for fashion designers, boutiques & department stores. The designs were meant to not only display the styles of the day but to also convey a certain lifestyle to the viewer. Over time, they have also become a source of information. They give you a glimpse into the past as to how women wore the styles of the day. 1930s designs convey conservative styles, athletic figures, & a glamorous air.
