Historic Burra South Australia | A Town Built From Stone
The historic mining town of Burra South Australia, a town built from stone. Ornate stone buildings hint at past prosperity, funded by a nearby copper mine.
The end of the tunnel at Mt Paris Dam, near Derby in North East Tasmania. Orginally known as the The Morning Star Dam, it was built in the 1930s to supply water for the local tin mining industry. The dam was built entirely by hand and is the only one of its design in Tasmania. It is now permanently registered on the Tasmanian Heritage Register. #derby #tin #mining #tasmania #discovertasmania Image Credit: Brendan Turriff
