This week's Freebie Friday giveaway is a page of Indigenous games! These games provide a fun variation on more commonly-known western games like chasey, hide-and-seek, tunnel ball etc. As well as being an enjoyable and effective way to burn energy, this hands-on approach is a great way to teach students about this part of Indigenous culture.
Each student traced their own hand in pencil then broke up their hand into different shapes and patterns.They traced over the pencil lines with black sharpie. We used colored pencils to color each shape in pushing down to make them bold and bright. I glued them down to a large piece of cardboard that was covered in black paper.

We looked at his books "Mister Seahorse," "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," and "The Very Busy Spider" and talked about how he created his own textured paper to create the collages in his books.
