Bird of paradise flower - plant. May in summer on the terrace. The bird of paradise flower (Strelitzia reginae) is admired for its exotic flowers. The graceful, orange bracts with 2 or 3 blue petals are like a mohawk on the green leaf.
THIS WEEK IN THE BALINESE GARDEN - Exotic heliconias are a great tropical backdrop for the Balinese and the Rostrata or Lobster claw, as it is commonly referred to, is a spectacular plant as it emerges slowly in full vibrant colour. Each plant produces just one flower a year which lasts for many months. Photo credit toptropicals.com Posted by Rae at www.balinesebeachhousenoosa.com and www.beachhousenoosa.com
