Ghent is an amazing city in Belgium. Its lesser known to outsiders than Bruges but in my opinion its even more beautiful and its more lively because its a functioning university town. In the cathedral pictured you can also find one of the worlds most beautiful artworks The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb by the Van Eyck brothers otherwise known as the Ghent Altarpiece which was stolen by the Nazis in WW2. The town also has its share of atrocious and eyebrow raising medieval stories. In the bell…

A Roadtrip Through The Netherlands and Belgium Part Bruges, Ghent and Brussels - Lost Scientist

Even though October is considered very late season because its heading into winter it is still early to be venturing inside glaciers. Thats because theres a lot of meltwater and so there are rivers flowing within the glacier. In summer the glacier is full of the flowing water in winter the water dries up. So winter you can really get deep into ice caves. Nonetheless it was pretty damn cool even though not the dead of winter and I love the way nobody in Iceland tells you not to do stuff cos…

High above the JK bridge in Brasilia capital of Brazil. Theres an interesting story behind this post. JK is such a beautiful bridge. I had wanted to shoot this bridge for a long time and was determined to do so on my most recent Brazil trip. We were driving around with my mother-in-law looking for a suitable takeoff spot but large houses seem to have all the lake front there. We drove down several streets but couldnt find any access to the lakes edge. Finally in one street there was a…

Above the Sea Cliff Bridge in Coalcliff Australia. These cliffs were mined for a century but the Grand Pacific Drive old road which went around the base of the cliff kept getting buried by landslides. Finally in 2005 the road was replaced by the bridge built out from the cliff. I had to go down to Wollongong one day to buy an amplifier off a guy (my first Orange) so I made a roadtrip of it and took the drone along. of course.

Balmy springtime brings moody cloudy afternoons to Sydney. Taking my little guy to the park and the beach and being reminded how fun it is to just kick a ball around. Meanwhile I got my hands on the new Mastodon EP and the last couple Pallbearer albums and we got music everywhere we go.

Beers on boats in the evening summertime in Amsterdam.

Believe me my young friend there is nothingabsolute nothinghalf so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats! - Water Rat from Wind in the Willows. The inhabitants of Amsterdam obviously agree!
