FAR MORE ORNATE Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The top few floors of 258 Flinders Street in Melbourne provides an indication of the architectural beauty of this city at the end of the 1800's. The red bricks and the cream rendered features are far more ornate than todays buildings and must have taken considerably longer to build than the formed concrete that we see now. I love this type of photography, but it is getting harder to take with power lines, cars and people all conspiring to ...

MORE'S THE PITY Eden, New South Wales, Australia. This lovely little bay is just outside of Eden, on New South Wales' south coast. This area of Australia is particulars beautiful, and it varies so much around every corner I visited. Within the beauty of this image are a few 'ugly spots'. A rope that has washed up on the beach, alongside seaweed and even tree branches. It is almost impossible to visit a beach these days without finding evidence of the human race, more's the pity.

THE SUN WAS DANCING Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. What a beautiful morning it was today. The sun was glorious and temperature very mild, for this time of the year. My trip to Melbourne was rewarded with a number of good images (I hope) and this is the first. I walked over the Princess Bridge from Flinders Street railway station and as I passed Hamer Hall, noticed the amazing patterns created by the sun reflecting off the windows of the round building. It almost felt like the sun was ...

QUIRKY ASPECTS Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. There's a lot happening in this image, taken in Stevenson Lane, Melbourne. The most striking feature is the mural on the tall wall of a woman, with piercing eyes that followed m up the lane as I walked in. I noticed a number of roof top gardens, one with plants growing in wooden boxes and even in an old bathtub. There is also stencil art on the right hand wall depicting Ned Kelly. A basketball hoop hangs over the lane, as do several ...

NEW LANDMARK Geelong, Victoria, Australia. Today I have another shot of Geelong's beautiful Library and Heritage Centre. It is built next to the Art Gallery and overlooks Johnstone Park. Dubbed locally as 'The Dome', it is a five storey structure that has become a new landmark in the centre of the city. It is usually a bit tricky to photograph, because of trees, parked cars and people, but if you arrive at sunrise, all you have to contend with are garbage trucks. So here is my final ...
