It has been 200 years since Frankenstein was first published. Gordon White Library is celebrating with a special exhibition dedicated to the story of Victor Frankenstein and his monster. Just like the novel, the exhibition is filled with gothic elements and an opportunity for scientific curiosity. There are x-rays to look at, specimens to examine, “organs” to squeeze and much more.

Guess who's coming to Artspace on December 5? Join local artists and performers for very special Christmas themed creative art activities designed for toddlers and their adults. BMA Kidspace, Artspace Mackay’s ever popular toddler’s program, gives children under five a chance to explore and have fun with art in a climate of co-operative learning. The program includes free artist-run workshops from 10am to 2pm and live musical entertainment for kids from 12pm to 1pm.

Just one week left until Mackay's biggest and best playground is officially opened to the public. A community open day will be held on Saturday, December 2, from 9am to 11am, as part of the official opening of Queens Park Playground.
