Sticky Chicken Drumsticks
I love this recipe for it's simplicity and especially due to the fact that all 3 of kids loved it and gobbled it up with gusto, including my fussy plain Jane youngest! Simple; as it is using 3 ingredients... my new BBQ sauce recipe which I whipped up in the Thermomix, chicken and oil. You [...]
Wombok Salad with Chicken
My mum makes a mean wombok salad, one of the things I have missed since going Failsafe. We managed to find some dried noodles* at a local Chinese supermarket that listed all the ingredients as Failsafe. Since I had the noodles, the main ingredient of this recipe, I had to adapt her wombok salad! [...]
Failsafe sausages - Food Intolerance Network
Sausages e.g. beef, lamb or chicken, not pork - ask your specialist butcher if he will make up the Failsafe Sausages recipe in all my books or below. Sausage casings are permitted to contain sulphite preservatives at the same level as sausages.
A little while back I posted a few dip recipes, but didn't have one for the hommus. I'm normally a "cook by feel" kind of girl, tasting, adding a splodge of this, a dash of that and tasting again and again until I am happy with the results. Hommus is also something I make in large batches and freeze, so when I posted the other recipes I didn't actually have a concrete recipe. I made it again and recorded what I did. We all love this and go through tonnes of it. My daughter takes it to…
Real Deli Chicken
Real Deli Chicken The internet community is amazing, isn't it? I have been a part of special interest forums (infertility, breastfeeding, homebirth, parenting, Thermomix, Failsafe diet) and I love that there's always someone out there with the information you need. This recipe is exactly that. On the 'Beyond Failsafe - Biomedical Treatment for Food Intolerances' facebook group, one person asked for some 'chicken-y school lunch ideas'. Along came Meredith H. with her very simple answer. She…
Meatloaf is one of those recipes that has been around for ages, it was a recipe I started making for my son many years ago when we first started the Failsafe Diet. I had a favourite recipe I found from somewhere and converted to make it suitable for the diet and have had it saved [...]
Failsafe Toffee Cake… layers and layers of crazy good!
Toffee AND Cake. I mean seriously, how good can it get? I'm not even gonna waste time talking right now. Partially because you won't want anything to keep you from this recipe.. and partially because I don't want anything to keep me from eating it. It's practically yelling at me from the kitchen! This…
My mum is really great about cooking for us when we go there and always making sure she has snacks or something for the kids. This is a cake she has made on several occasions. It is nice for afternoon tea and lovely for dessert. Last night she made a rice milk custard to pour over it too. Everyone likes it except for my daughter who is quite the fuss pot. She adapted it from some recipe she had cut out of a magazine ages ago. The original recipe was for a Pineapple Streusel Cake, but it now…
