I know a little about elements (I am scared of compounds) so this is a beginner's guide to working out what this part of science is all about and means!
A "handy" way to learn about texture: pass out small sample of soft, smooth, rough, hard, bumpy materials and have students sort/attach them onto appropriate labeled finger

Great activity for teaching touch during a 5 Senses lesson or texture during art. By the end of exploratory, the kids will be able to describe different textures.
