Australian Symbols and Their Meanings. Have you ever wanted a handout for kids when studying Australia aboriginal Art that will explain the symbolism? Here is a simple handout for you to use.

Each student traced their own hand in pencil then broke up their hand into different shapes and patterns. They traced over the pencil lines with black sharpie. We used colored pencils to color each shape in pushing down to make them bold and bright. I glued them down to a large piece of cardboard that was covered in black paper.

Love the unique decorations of these handprints! What a great "buddy" project to explore the idea of friendship in Judge Julie Truly. Each child will create on their level. They can take their handprints home.
