I love this idea. This is an old drawer that has been shabbied. I have turned this sideways and now using it as a shelf. The Mason jars inside were a wonderful project....I ordered plain vintage mason jars online. http://aussimasonpreservingjars.com.au/Ball-Mason-Jars?product_id=11 Painted the outside with Annie Sloan Chalk paint and then used a kitchen scourer and shabbied the outside, bringing out the original embossing of the jars. Added a ribbon and flowers, done!!
I love this dressing table. We have had this one for a while, I just had to repaint and add a few accessories. This originally came with a little stool but my girl really wanted a wing chair in her room. With limited space available in the room, I decided to get her the wing chair and use it with the dressing table. The beautiful quilt was handmade by my late aunty and I wanted the quilt to be front and centre.
My Mason Jar project up close.
I love this! I bought this dress for my girl for a school disco about a year ago as I really do love the vintage look. My girl really wasn't interested in wearing it so it gave me an idea. I could display the dress as "art". I bought a clothes stand from Ikea.... very reasonably priced. http://www.ikea.com/aa/en/catalog/products/90243834/. and displayed it in the room. I get a lot of comments from this alone! Very visual.
The light! I wanted my girl to have a chandelier in her room but wasn't interested in doing up a vintage find or spending $$$$ at a lighting shop, so where to go... Ikea. We found this one online, very reasonably priced and looks wonderful. http://www.ikea.com/aa/en/catalog/products/60089462/
I love this bookshelf. It holds all of my girls prized processions. The Aimee sign above was made using a canvas, lovely fabric from spotlight, heaps of embellishments and paper mache lettering. Turned out a treat.
I wanted my daughter to have a very pretty, vintage look. I actually found an old window shutter and added it to the wall above an inexpensive Ikea Day bed. I then added wonderful wall lights and decorated them with hot glue & ribbon. I even collected mass produced wall art and put my own spin by adding fabric. I also love the look of the vintage wallpaper and shabby side tables. Just delicious.
