Hill of Slane at Sunset by AMANDA NORMAN. The best thing about taking landscape pictures at cemeteries is the amount of ancient or recent history you are able to capture in one frame.

Infrared Angel 2 by photographer BOB VISHNESKI Cemeteries have some of the most diverse vegetation and landscapes that you can find locally. I want to one day visit a cemetery like this that is coated in snow, which I think actually makes the monuments look more angelic than anything.

Photographing Cemeteries and Exploring Their Beauty

Fall Colors by photographer BOB VISHNESKI I particularly like this image because it portrays the side of cemeteries that I like - the fact that they can be extremely vibrant with colour due to the different flowers, plants and trees that are planted, placed and looked after at gravesides. It brings life (no pun intended) to the aesthetics of an already beautiful cemetery spot.

Those vivid colors are Nature's greatest gift to us.

St. Mary's Cemetery, photographer BOB VISHNESKI I love the contrast in what appears to be autumn trees losing their colour and the grave stone looking unkempt against the bright blue vibrant sky and angelic-looking clouds.

Historic Cemeteries offer photographers with many opportunities to hone their skills and take interesting pictures.

Image of an Irish graveyard at sunset by AMANDA NORMAN. This is one of the great examples of how editing, particularly on a picture of a graveyard, can alter the atmosphere from being what could have been serene and peaceful to sinister and evil.

Absolutely pitch black in Blackburn Cemetery by AMANDA NORMAN. Cemetery photography can have many different interpretations from one image; some people would see the scary and haunting side of this image, whilst I see a peaceful and moon-lit resting ground.

Full Moon by photographer BOB VISHNESKI I love the chilly atmosphere in this photo, and this relates more closely to the scary and creepy stereotype associate with cemeteries.
