Sidney Nolan: First-Class Marksman 1946 (part of his series of Ned Kelly paintings)
This is Edward "kid" Nelly a famous outlaw with a gang that caused mayhem and fought the police. His gang helped him kill and evade colonial police. After he was discovered his gang was declared outlaws. They were killed in a massacre by police.
The childhood home of bushranger Ned Kelly – at Beveridge, north of Melbourne – is on the market. The house is believed to have been built around 1859 or when the young Ned was about four years old.
