‘Captain Moonlite,’ was one of Australia's most colourful bushrangers. His gang terrorised New South Wales communities and held a number of bail ups throughout the 1970's. After James Nesbitt, a fellow gang member was killed at Wantabadgery Station in 1879 Captain Moonlight was apprehended and then hanged in 1880, before being buried at Rookwood. Cemetery in Sydney. His remains were eventually exhumed in 1995 and reinterred at Gundagai next to Nesbitt’s grave as per his final wishes.
