A few of you have been asking for a Charlie update! Well we knew Charlie was a 'special one.' There was just something so tranquil about him. In the short time that Charlie has been with us he has already been house trained and is enjoying his food, which is helping him to gain some much needed weight! Charlie has a new friend called Barry that has taught him how to play ball and fetch sticks!! Our beautiful boy is in a much happier place and we are overjoyed by his improvement. If…

This is Charlie, and there is something so incredibly special about him.
Lady's story... When Lady arrived into our care, we immediately thought that something wasn't right. We could see that she had terrible trouble with her sight and that her eye lids were bulging to the point that she could hardly see. Poor Lady was so distressed she was ‘air snapping’ and seemed completely disoriented. We took Lady to our vets where they diagnosed her with a medical condition called Entropion and decided the best thing for Lady would be to have eye surgery. After the

Lexi was found as a stray dog, it was noticed that she was heavily pregnant. Lexi started to give birth in a pound and required urgent medical assistance, as it appeared her puppies were stuck. Lexi was placed into our care and sadly became terribly ill, she was diagnosed with Clostridium [bacterial infection]. Lexi was so ill that her puppies had to be removed from her care and nursed by our Foster care Manager. It was thought that Lexi would die, her prognosis was made ‘day by day’;

Even though Maddies tired body is a complete mess with missing fur, she has puss pockets around her face and under her chin. Due to being on a high dosage of cortisone injections and medication, Maddie cannot as yet be desexed [we are hoping within the coming month we can proceed with desexing]. Maddie’s ears were also terribly infected the stench was unbearable. We have been advised by our Vets that Maddie will be on medication to control her skin disorder for the rest of her life.
