I love Ken Follett books. "Fall of Giants" is the first book of a century trilogy by Ken Follet. A large book but easy to read and very entertaining. The first book covers WW I. Ken Follet is an expert at making history interesting!
Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel. Recipient of the Man Booker Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction. Bring Up the Bodies, Book Two of the Thomas Cromwell Trilogy, was also awarded the Man Booker Prize and the Costa Book Award.
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon is one of my all time favorite books. It is a character driven historical fiction, sci-fi, adventure, love story all rolled into one fabulous book. Get to chapter three and I promise you will not want to put it down.
