Crown of Louis XV of France

Louis XV King of France February 1710 – 10 May known as Louis the Beloved (Louis le bien aimé) was a monarch of the House of Bourbon who ruled as King of France from 1 September 1715 until his death. Crown of Louis XV of France.

The oldest surviving crown of an English queen, 1370-80. Gold, enamel, sapphires, rubies, emeralds, diamonds, pearls. Recorded in England in a list of jewels and plate drawn up in 1399. Probably belonged to King Edward III or Anne of Bohemia, the wife of King Richard II, who was deposed that year by Henry IV. Henry's daughter, Princess Blanche, married the Palatine Elector Ludwig III in 1402 and the crown passed to the Palatine Treasury in Heidelberg as part of her dowry.

This crown probably belonged to King Edward III or Anne of Bohemia, the wife of King Richard II, who was deposed that year by Henry IV. In 1782 it was transferred to the Munich Treasury along w/ other jewels belonging to the Palatine branch of the Wittelsbach family. This is the oldest surviving crown of England.

Imperial Crown of Brazil   The Imperial Crown of Brazil was created for Dom Pedro II in 1841 for his coronation. It is made of gold and contains 639 diamonds and 77 pearls. The crown is made up of eight half arches, topped with a jewelled cross. In 1889, Brazil abolished it’s monarchy, but unusually the crown jewels were kept safe. They now belong to the Brazilian State and are on display at the Imperial Museum of Brazil.
