You remember the big illuminated rotating "Gulf" sign on the Gulf Oil Building downtown. (I don't remember the sign, but I remember being in awe of the tall Gulf and Esperson buildings.

Gus S. Wortham Memorial Fountain which is located on bayou park land near Waugh Drive. The Wortham Fountain was designed by William Cannady and construction was complete in 1978. The spray and mist created by the nozzles at the end of the copper tubes that radiate from the center of the fountain provide the fountain with its common name, the Dandelion Fountain.
