Cholamu Lake in Sikkim, India. Also known as the ‘Tso Lhamu’ Lake, Cholamu Lake lies at a distance of 6 km. from the Gurudongmar Lake and is considered to be the highest lake in India. Cholamu Lake is situated at a dizzying height of 5330 m. This surreal lake is also a short distance away from the Indo-Tibet Border in North Sikkim, and thus permits are required for visiting. Cholamu, being tucked away in the North Sikkim region, is lesser explored, and thus its beauty remains intact.
