The effect of The Battle of Guadalcanal was the Japanese losing many soldiers. In total, they lost about 14,800 soldiers. The Japanese also lost about 9,000 other soldiers from tropical diseases and there were about 31,500 soldiers who were deployed. This battle ended the Japanese air and naval superiority in the Pacific.
