Explore Beautiful Sunset, Wide Angle, and more!

There's this really silly rule about having "no wide angles" in portraiture. To that I say, screw the rules. This image was taken with a wide angle, extremely small aperture and was purposely underexposed to get the beautiful sunset, and to get as much of it as possible. :-)

Wide Angle Portraiture. Nothing wrong with use of wide angle once in awhile. When the sky takes up a large portion of the image, a narrower aperture can can be beautiful to look at. Dead white space can be boring. For this image we used a wider angle, small aperture and a low vantage point.

More wide angle portraiture. This is more categorized as environmental portraiture as it is an image of the dancers in their natural environment - a nightclub - Beta Nightclub in Denver, CO! Great monochrome image taken with a wide angle, quick shutterspeed, high ISO and large aperture.

Heron at sunset - Lake Wichita, Wichita Falls, Texas

The Falls at Lucy Park in Wichita Falls, TX. This image uses a slow shutter speed, extremely low ISO and a very narrow aperture (around f/22.) Getting waterfalls to look more flowy in this way can sometimes be seen as cliche... but I don't care! I'm a sucker for long exposures. :-) Darah Soria Photograpy | Wichita Falls Photographer
