After Susanna Dickinson survived the Alamo and the death of her first husband, she went through three bad marriages and some difficult times before finding happiness.  Husband number five was  Joseph Hannig,  a successful Austin businessman with thriving furniture-making, undertaking, and milling businesses.  Susanna died in 1883 and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery.  Some say Susanna strolls near her house on 5th street to  revisit happy times or look for family members.
