The Endurance was the ship Sir Ernest Shackleton used on his Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition. Specially built and designed by Norwegian shipbuilders for Arctic conditions The Endurance became trapped in ice and eventually was crushed by the millions of pounds of pressure caused by the shifting ice.
