Burnham Beeches was the house that Aspro built. It was designed for a weekend getaway house in the Dandenong Ranges, Victoria. Alfred Nicholas also employed the garden designer Hugh Linaker, best known for his bold landscape schemes for The Shrine and Domain in Melbourne to design the 13 acres of gardens.

Lake View, Chiltern (290km NE of Melbourne), is a red brick Victorian residence on the shores of Lake Chiltern. Built c1870, the six-roomed house has a central passageway and French doors opening onto an encircling verandah. It was briefly (1876-77) the residence of Dr W.L. Richardson and family, including daughter Ethel, who became the novelist Henry Handel Richardson; it features in her novel, Ultima Thule. Lake View was restored in the 1960s and has since operated as a house museum.
North Fitzroy Railway Station, back when a railway went through Fitzroy and Carlton on the Inner Circle line. Passenger services ceased on the Inner Circle in 1948, became a goods line to the Fitzroy Railway Station at the rear of the Brunswick Street Oval until 1981. North Fitzroy station is now demolished, and the Inner Circle line is now the Capital City Bike Trail.
Southern Cross Hotel on the corner of Exhibition & Bourke Streets. A Melbourne icon. I remember when I started work popping over to the Stable Bar for a beer or two and the occasional drink in the lounge. Remember the Palm Court restaurant so well!
