I love blackened chicken. I make a mean blackened chicken alfredo dish. Being that I’ve been on a major chicken wing kick lately (ever since discovering dry wings), I wanted to get that great blackened seasoning flavor on a wing.

Homemade Old Bay Seasoning Mix

This spice blend is PERFECT to use when your recipe calls for 'Old Bay Seasoning', but you don't have any! I've used this many times and I love it! These are ingredients that you probably already have in your spice cabinet!

The seasoning I used for the blackened chicken with avocado cream sauce. I used less cayenne and it was still spicy and I used a tsp. more salt, but I wouldn't recommend it. Pretty salty.

  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp Oregano, dried leaves
  • 1/2 tsp Thyme, dried leaves
Baking & Spices
  • 3/4 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Cayenne
  • 1 tbsp Paprika, sweet
  • 2 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 3/4 tsp White pepper
