This is our grow heap, a compost pile. In the file we added the garden waste, leaves and grass clippings to the pile which is surrounded by four straw bales. The teachers also gave us about 10 pumpkins they had in their classrooms. We watched them decompose all winter and the spring we had tons of pumpkin volunteers. We thinned them out to just a few pumpkin vines. A great way to grow pumpkins and make compost!
