Oh, how I wish there was some information attached to this daguerreotype. It is totally arresting. The tinting is amazing. The infant necklines edged with lace, the rucking, the absence of belts indicate1840s. The girls' attention on something other than the camera gives it a wonderful reality. I have a feeling it is French.
