While salsa isn’t bad for you, and tortilla chips are all right on occasion, this was a complete addiction for me. Weird, but I realized a lot of it had to do with the act of “dipping.” So, I replaced this daily habit with veggies and hummus. Baby carrots are great, but my favorite is thinly sliced pieces of cucumber sprinkled with a little Himalayan salt. It satisfies the salty, crunchy craving. I prefer to dip in different flavors of hummus, but you could definitely do salsa, too.
Anyone else a guacamole lover out there? I'm obsessed with making homemade guac anymore and use it on everything - including mixing with salsa for a salad dressing. So good and easy! You can put this on grilled chicken, veggies, or use for a dip.. * Mashed avocados * chopped tomato * 1/4 chopped red onion * 1/2 lime (the juice) * Himalayan sea salt, pepper & cilantro to taste *We also like to add Flavor God seasoning or garlic salt seasoning. P.S. Not all guac is creating equal! Make it…
Do you have a food vice? Whoops! This is a lesson I keep learning. If you can't stop eating it, STOP buying it. Chips and salsa are my vice. Especially chips from Chipotle...soooo lime-y and ever so salty. Ahhh.... They somehow made their way into the house, so OUT they go. Yeah a few of these won't hurt most people, but for me it's one of those things I can't... stop.... eating... Good bye and I love you...
Enjoy a delicious egg white omelette for breakfast: low in fat and high in protein!
Tips for cleaning up your diet fast and kick starting a healthy habits that can last a lifetime.
Have you tried this yet? Ok ok so it's not exactly the same as rice. It's not as good...but it's not bad at all if you need to get some more veggies in your diet, and you like rice...A LOT like I do. Cauliflower rice is a good substitute. I mixed it with peppers, onions, cabbage, mushrooms, garlic, Flavor God chipotle seasoning and topped with avocado. Close as you can get to a Mexican rice bowl filled with all veggies!
This is what replaced my addiction to tortilla chips and salsa. I was eating way too many chips! Carrots are a good replacement. My go-to snack!

New recipe from @thugkitchen! The beer roasted lime cauliflower tacos. (Except I left out the beer part to make it gluten free. 😬) This had lots of flavor with lime, garlic, paprika, chili powder & added Flavorgod Cilantro seasoning. Smothered it with cilantro lime coleslaw made with my cilantro micro greens from @urbanproduce. All plants & all GOOD! 😍 Just an idea to hopefully inspire & show that healthy can be good. Just about everything can be tweaked to your dietary needs…
This homemade "bean burgers" were so good! (Someone was trying to sneak a taste. 🐶 🐶 🐶) 👀 These are white beans, red lentils, onions, jalapeño, and a buncha spices on a gluten free, dairy free bun. Threw a buncha leftover veggies together for a salad and voila! Dinner! 👌🏼
What do you usually prep on your low-key days? For me, one of the best things and easiest things are healthy chili and stews. Or crock pot meals!
Do you find yourself in the kitchen when you can’t sleep because you're soooo hungry? Egg whites are really great at night if the drinks just won’t do it for you and you’re starving. If you’re legit hungry and not just craving food out of habit or for emotional reasons, eat egg whites - it’s a low calorie, slow digesting protein. That’s about 16 calories per egg white, and 1 or 2 will fill you up!
I love a good glass of wine from time to time, but if you want to lean out and feel good, you need to get rid of alcohol. Period. End of subject. you'll thank me later. wink emoticon Some good alternatives for the evening glass of wine habit are sparkling water, fruit infused water/sparkling water, BCAAs or Kombucha.
Yummy recipe! I have been really into bowls lately...& I definitely get on kicks where I eat the same things over & over. Do you do this, too? Or do you like to change it up? Plant based stirfry... - Broccoli - Cauliflower - Red bell pepper - Carrots - Zucchini noodles - Basmati rice - Garbanzo beans - Onions - Garlic - Garlic Coconut Aminos (tried this for the first time - SO GOOD) - Himalayan salt & pepper Would you try this?
