Leisa Rich is an artist working with conceptual 2D, sculpture and installation format, using thread, fabrics, industrial felt, mixed media and detritus as her primary materials and free motion stitching - “machine embroidery” - as her favored technical method. Leisa also dyes, paints, burns, melts, hand embroiders and is a perpetual experimenter.

Themes that inspire me are informed by my process as a professional actor and include: the tension between internal and external identity, the forms and visceral experience of language. I use metal and handmade felt together with various mixed media and found objects.
