2015 - 365 Challenge | Day 171 of 365 - A day for raising awareness for protecting the Bald Eagle, American Eagle Day encourages participants to adopt a bald eagle, to assist in the recovery of their natural environments, and to take part in educational outreach. Let's help make sure these beautiful birds are around for future generations to enjoy! NOTE: This photo was taken at the Norfolk Virginia Zoo, this is a favorite place of mine to go, great place to spend an afternoon!

I like the idea of having an eagle tattoo because its a very powerful and independant bird and has the impression that it won't let anything get the better of it.

Eagle celebrates Fourth of July by freeing itself and flying away By Jonathan Keshishoglou2016-07-05 16:55:00 UTC A Fourth of July baseball game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Baltimore Orioles got off to a rough start. Well rough for the humans not for the bald eagle they let fly through the stadium. Because as America the Beautiful played on the eagle grew a bit too excited about the idea of Independence Day. He flew past his trainer and liberated himself from the stadium presumably off to catch a fish in his claws like a true American. Heres another angle of Chinook the eagle pulling his symbolically glorious but practically problematic stunt. Unfortunately for the eagle he never made it very far. Just like the American revolutionaries who laid down their arms to wait for the British to recapture them the eagle perched by his trainers van and has now been returned to the Los Angeles Zoo. Happily our bald eagles are fine safely back at the Zoo. Although he missed his mark Chinook waited by the van for his trainer Los Angeles Zoo (@LAZoo) July 5 2016 But hey theres always next year and another chance for freedom. And now the eagle has a year to plan ahead. Have something to add to this story? Share it in the comments. Lets block ads!
