A series of print ads for Dutch Book Week by Van Wanten Etcetera. This years theme was the “autobiography”, so portraits of Anne Frank, Vincent van Gogh, Louis van Gaal and Kader Abdollah were created from books as centerpieces for the ad campaign.
Seat Assignment: Lavatory Self-Portraits in the Flemish Style. By Nina Katchadourian. The artist put paper toilet seat covers on her head in the airplane lavatory and took self portraits that evoke Flemish portraiture.
The inaugural Tokyo Hotaru festival was held last weekend. And kicking off the festivities were an impressive display of LED lights – made to resemble hotaru (fireflies) – that floated down the Sumida River through central Tokyo.
Crafted completely out of wood, ‘Ghostcubes’ is an intricately designed system of cubes that morph into a variety of structures. The best way to digest this series of interlocking cubes is to watch the video below, which shows Ghostcubes in action.
