Green garlic miso ramen from Ramen Shop Double chashu with ground chashu, baby carrots, cauliflower, cabbage, and shungiku I usually don't like miso ramen but this was not bad! Mild tasting but thicker soup base. The noodles were cooked perfectly but would have been nice if they were thinner. The grilled baby carrot was amazing and a unique addition.Still overall, Ramen Shop is a bit pricey, but the fusion style is worth it once in a while!
This is the Tonkotsu Black with an additional 3 pieces of braised pork belly from Slurp Ramen. The braised pork belly has a really nice, sweet taste, though the fat wasn't quite spread evenly and the meat could have been a bit more tender. This bowl wasn't spectacular but it does the job. Though it was tonkotsu, it wasn't quite as rich as what I expected and had a bit of a one-dimensional taste. I did enjoy the taste of the black garlic oil and the egg was wonderfully done!
鳥白湯チャーシューめん This is the best bowl of ramen I had since coming back from Japan. The soup was very similar to a tonkotsu (or Yokohama style) thick, creamy and with a bit of sedimentation-- absolutely delicious. Noodles were also thick like the Yokohama style. There were two slices of amazingly seasoned, juicy duck and two perfectly fatty slices of chashu. The fried garlic slices and kale (?) added the perfect garnish to the bowl. I will make it a point to come and try every style of ramen!!
