Change in pharmaceutical co. meant change in equipment. Two pre-loaded syringes per day are provided, instead of the infuvite vials. Remove the red cap, peel back the wrapping on the needle, screw the syringe into the needle, remove cap, and add contents to the IV bag as described in previous pin. #TPN
This picture was helpful in remembering the signs and symptoms of right sided heart failure. It helps me distinguish it from left sided heart failure so I did not get confused between the two types of heart failures.
The equipment involved with changing the bag. Clockwise from top right, sharps disposal container, vials of additional nutrients to add to the bag, sharps for doing the previous step, pre-filled saline flushes for clearing the line at my port, fresh IV tubing, IV connector to attach the line to the lumen at my port, alcohol preps, and in the center is a fresh battery for the pump. (counter was bleached and all items remain in their sterile packs in this photo) #tpn
Check out this Cartoon on how your thyroid works. Thyroid issues can get complicated, so this might help explain a little bit better what dotors do not explain to their patients. Check out that T-shirt here:
