House in Melbourne, Australia. these old gingerbread terrace houses are common in parts of australia but almost always have white wrought-iron lace on a dark brick facade. this one is nice as they have reversed the colours.

Beatrix Potter home/Lake District.  As a child, I didn't care for Ms. Potter's stories, which were more depressing than entertaining.  However, I do admire Ms. Potter's artistry and success, her strength of character in the face of societal constraints, and her  efforts to preserve the Lake District.  She was before her time; I would like to believe that we would have been friends if we had met.

This was our sweet little cottage, near Ambleside, down a long windy lane with a farm gate at the end that you had to open and close to go in and out.you could go for lovely walks straight from the cottage.
