Catacombs of St Callisto, the official cemetery for the Christians of Rome. Sited along the Appian way, these catacombs were built after AD with some private Christian hypogea and a funeral area directly dependent on the Catholic Church.
Doors- usually wooden and double, they didn't have hinges but swung in pivots in the floor. Doors were locked with bolts and sometimes iron locks. Inside the house curtains were used instead of doors Ruins in Pompei, Italy
