A rather wonderful new edition of @theplantjournal ( + a new hoya flower from a very old plant). This one's dedicated to the asparagus fern, a plant whose architectural tendrils I love (but whose stubborn roots I do not!) Copies still available at @mag_nation . #plantjournal #hoyaflower #plantlove #dilettante Photography: The Dilettante Gardener

Somehow I ended up at The Bath Priory, a boutique hotel where Head Gardener Jane Moore presides over loose, impressionistic plantings set against formal Victorian walls. Needless to say, it was lovely, with big fat thistles and starry Cosmos and that particularly English lavender that smells so good after the rain.
