This desk has numerous secret compartments and drawers and even includes a fold-out prie-dieu. It was made for Johann Philipp von Walderdorff, archbishop and elector of Trier, and is decorated at the top with his portrait and heraldic arms. The desk is the most expensive showpiece ever made by Abraham Roentgen, the leading cabinetmaker in Germany in his day. Abraham Roentgen, ca. 1758 - ca. 1760.

Peat and provisions loft  This is the storage space in the doll's house. Pieces of chopped wood and peat blocks have been piled high at the top of the stairs. Below the peat loft is a storage space with pots behind a wooden partition decorated with delightful scrollwork.
