The Park Hotel, located on the northwest corner of North High Street and West Goodale Avenue. The address was 563 North High Street.  The four story park Hotel opened on December 1 1878 on what is now the cap over I-670. I was also called the Northern Hotel and the Railway YMCA. On April 5, 1900, contractor John D. Evans, dismantled Athletic Park in Columbus and moved it via Columbus Street Railway System to 512 Cleveland Avenue. This park was reassembled and renamed Neil Park, after Robert Neil, the owner of the land. Athletic Park that they took down was at the corner of Parsons and Jenkins avenues, was home to the best Columbus team, the Senators, from 1896 to ’99. Hall of Famers Rube Waddell and Wahoo Sam Crawford played on these teams.

The first passenger depot, was a scant 50-feet from the High and Naghten corner. It occupied the site where the produce yards of the Pennsylvania Railroad are now located. The building was laid out diagonally to cardinal directions because the tracks, too, stretched diagonally across that part of town, the Xenia and Cleveland roads forming a straight line continuation of each other, and the depot building straddled the passenger tracks.
