https://flic.kr/p/TM3YAU | Pretty plodder - Blue-striped goatfish - Upeneichthys lineatus #marineexplorer | Perhaps not the most glamorous of fish, yet U. lineatus has beautiful deep colouration which it can change to light sand colour in seconds. The endless flickering of the barbels and regular digging for food make this a most interesting fish to watch. Shiprock

https://flic.kr/p/F7LCnY | Ordinary fish, extraordinary detail; Hypoplectrodes maccullochi - Half-banded seaperch #marineexplorer | H. maccullochi is one of the most common fish found on our surveys of Jervis Bay and Sydney. So it's easy to take it for granted "yeah just another one"! But up close, the fish has beautiful colouration and detailed patterning. The dots in the background are fry of some kind - but too small to identify.
