Classic Breckenridge Lighting in Mid-Morning by Wayne Wong on Capture Kern County // The cloud layer gave some dramatic lighting and shadows, almost like an English painting. If you look closely, there are two birds on the wing above and to the right of the dirt road to the left of the main road. Shot through windshield from passenger side.

Breckenridge Roadside Sunburst by Wayne Wong on Capture Kern County // The exposed subsoil in road cuts make it easy to access flowers at "ground level" without bending down... Morning clouds and changing shadow patterns make for striking lighting opportunities. This image capture a large dynamic range....the brilliant lighting and clouds along with the saturation of the flowers and grasses, side-lighting on the subsoil.

Breckenridge Valley Vista by Wayne Wong on Capture Kern County // Taken at a bend in the road below Heisey's Ranch. To cut the haze, I used an orange filter in Lightroom 5 and changed the color mix in black and white mode; i.e. minimize the orange and blue and use a strong contrast filter. In the original, the buildings in the background, the radio towers and the trees on the hillsides are all clearly delineated.
