My first ever sketches of Faith, known as Fai. This original design was doodled on graph paper, but I liked the design and decided to develop it from there.

Although just a quick sketch, this is one of my favourite drawings that captures her well as a character.

An original character and an illustration of myself - both of these were drawn using references, and was my first attempt at drawing with a reference for things such as poses, hand gestures and facial expressions. I practiced side views and drawing a portrait from a photo, things I initially wasn't confident in - which I now am thanks to this exercise and ones similar. For the realistic drawing, looking back on this I am now able to identify that she should have had a longer, slightly sharper face shape with her eyes a little higher up and a longer nose. The two drawings are the bottom of the page are cutouts of a couple of characters I drew when practising character design.
