Joseph Banks - Salt Lake City native who served in WWII aboard a B-17. He was the only survivor when his teams bomber crashed into a mountain on it's  last scheduled mission prior to going stateside. He endured torture at the hands of Nazi's in order to with hold information that saved the lives of many service men. Read about him in the book, "A Distant Prayer". :)
