Lunch with Soupy was the norm for me as a kid. I was a member of his official birdbath club. He got taken off the air for two weeks once, for telling the kids to go in their mom's purse and take out one of those wrinkled green pieces of paper money with a picture of an old man on it and send it to him, and he would send them an autographed postcard from Puerto Rico! He never rehearsed a thing. He was a riot!

Soupy Sales I lOVED that show! I used to walk home from school at lunch and watch soupy sales while I ate lunch. He was on TV in Detroit in the later White Fang and Black Tooth were his puppet companions.
