West Wycombe, The Hellfire Caves. Believed to be haunted, they're thought to have once been a chalk mine. The caves were extended and developed by Sir Francis Dashwood between 1748 and 1752. The caves extended one quarter of a mile underground and include some remarkable features including the Banqueting Hall (said to be the largest underground man made chamber in the world), a subterranean river called the Styx and Inner Temple where the members of the Hellfire club met.
