Baobab trees are native to Madagascar (it's the country's national tree!), mainland Africa, and Australia. A cluster of "the grandest of all" baobab trees (Adansonia grandidieri) can be found in the Baobab Avenue, near Morondava, in Madagascar.

Of the photo she says: "This old pink house is situated at the old dunes, a few hundred meters from the west coast, a very windy place were there isn’t much that can grow. So the tree can only grow where it has shelter. It has looked this way always."

~ The Majestic Redwood ~ Prairie Creek Redwood State Park, California. This amazing 300 foot tall, 1500 year old redwood was shot by Nick Nichols for National Geographic. He used a 3 camera, robotic dolly on a gyroscope to create this 83 photo composite.

Jabuticaba – The Tree that Fruits on its Trunk (Otherwise known as the Brazilian Grape Tree, this plant is native to South America, notably Paraguay, Argentina and (obviously from its name) mostly from Brazil.  The fruit, a succulent looking purple color can be plucked and eaten straight from the tree.)

Jabuticaba – The Brazilian Grape Tree. The Jaboticaba is purple-black and looks similar to grapes. They grow directly from the trunk of the Jaboticaba tree. The taste is very sweet, aromatic and has a please grape flavor.
