RICHMOND, QLD - Although a warm, shallow sea covered much of the area almost 100 million years ago in the Cretaceous period, Richmond is the main place to see the remains of big, carnivorous marine reptiles and squids. An active community has developed Kronosaurus Korner - a museum with more than 200 exhibits - and tours to properties where large fossilised creatures can be seen still in the ground.
