Trugernanner, the last full-blooded tribal-born Tasmanian Aboriginal from the Oyster Cove community. Truganini was born in 1812 on Bruny Island, south of the Tasmanian capital Hobart, and separated from the Tasmanian mainland by the D'Entrecasteaux Channel. She was a daughter of Mangana, Chief of the Bruny Island people.

Awakening - Torres Strait Islander Festival. “Awakening” seeks to reconnect the spirit between people and their objects. However this can be difficult. Some of the earliest pieces collected from the Torres Strait Islands by Europeans in the mid-1800’s were the stunning masks of the Torres strait, some of which were unique to the region and made nowhere else in the Pacific.
